Shlomo Pinkus joined Mekusharim in the summer of 2025 with 20 years experience in the nonprofit sector to help lead the organization to new heights. Following a career that started in 2005 with ordination in Jerusalem Israel, he continued to North Carolina opening a Torah education center and Sunday school creating programs for students aged 7-70.
From there Reb Shlomo as he is known, moved his family to Atlanta Georgia where he worked both in the local Torah Day School as well as for the Atlanta Kashrus Commission as a regional manager. He was instrumental in most nonprofit events for the next 6 years ensuring the highest level of care and discretion even receiving a personal appreciation from VP Joe Biden in 2013.
In the summer of 2013 Reb Shlomo felt it was time to move on once more, this time to Northern Israel where he and his family reside until today. With his experience in education, event management, and business development partnered with his Masters in Judaic Studies, Masters in Education, and MBA from Strayer University he looked for new ways to have a deep and meaningful impact on his new homeland.
This led him from creating marketing strategies for over 60 medical practices across North America to leave and go back to the nonprofit world. Seeing a need, Reb Shlomo quickly jumped in helping nonprofits strategies in their message and fundraising efforts, then built a new bomb proof NICU in central Israel. In 2022 Reb Shlomo found his new place as the global director of EPIC Family managing over 200 speaking engagements across the U.S. covering all areas of life and creating inspirational week long programs to strengthen communities from the inside out, while at the same time raising funds for children with trauma in Israel saving hundreds of children who would have otherwise fallen through the cracks.
This work was imperative to many families survival once the war began, as the infrastructure was already in place and it put their efforts on the forefront of mental health in Israel helping families effected by the war, families that were dispersed, families of soldiers who heeded their nations call, and regular everyday families across the country who were under constant attack.
All of this culminated in Reb Shlomo joining Mekusharim as the first COO utilizing his experience and education to help its founders lead to new heights and expand to new communities. You can contact Reb Shlomo with any questions or concerns at shlomo@mekusharim.org

When the war broke out in 2023 Shlomo saw over 1,000 missiles from Lebanon explode over his home; besides for watching the missiles from Iran shoot through the night. Shlomo started visiting soldiers on the boarder weekly, providing support and providing emotional support for their families. Shlomo then became a volunteer with the Israeli National Guard receiving training in extracting individuals should a structure be compromised from an attack.

As the war continues on in Israel, once again Shlomo received a call that people needed help. The ZAKA organization needed volunteers to help in case of an emergency and with his years of experience with the Jewish Burial Society in New York and Georgia he felt it was a great way to give back should the need arise.
